Erik Thomson is one of Australia’s most respected actors, with an extensive career spanning film, television, theatre, and production. He has built a reputation for versatility and depth across a wide range of roles, from acclaimed dramas to popular television series. Recent screen work includes CRITICAL INCIDENT, AFTERTASTE, BLACK SNOW, THE CLAREMONT MURDERS, and the Stan comedy C*A*U*G*H*T*, as well as feature films KANGAROO ISLAND, HOW TO PLEASE A WOMAN, THE FURNACE and COMING HOME IN THE DARK.
Thomson is widely recognised for his role as Dave Rafter in the hit series PACKED TO THE RAFTERS, and 800 WORDS for which he won a Silver Logie in 2016. He won the same award in 2003 for ALL SAINTS. His performance in SOMERSAULT earned him an AFI Award for Best Supporting Actor, with further nominations highlighting his consistent critical acclaim.
In addition to acting, Thomson has worked as a producer, most notably on the acclaimed ABC series AFTERTASTE, where he also starred. He also acted as Associate Producer on 40 episodes of 800 WORDS for the Seven Network. Alongside his screen career, he remains active in theatre, performing with leading companies in Australia and New Zealand, including The Melbourne Theatre Company, The Sydney Theatre Company, The South Australian State Theatre Company, and The Auckland Theatre Company, of which he was a founding member.
