Join us for a special screening of the TATAMI, presented in solidarity with the Iranian Women’s National Soccer Team, who have faced significant challenges in recent weeks.
TATAMI tells the story of an Iranian female athlete competing at the World Championships who is ordered by authorities to withdraw or risk being labelled a traitor to her country. The film offers a gripping portrayal of the pressure placed on athletes when politics intrudes on sport, and the difficult choices they must confront.
In light of the recent struggles faced by Iran’s women footballers, this screening invites audiences to reflect on the courage of women who continue to pursue their dreams despite immense obstacles.
We warmly invite our patrons to stand in support of these courageous women and donate to crowdfunding campaigns for the Iranian women’s footballers and organisations supporting refugees in Australia.
