Amirali Navaee is an Iranian film director, choreographer, and video artist, born in 1982 during the Iran-Iraq war. This event significantly shaped his artistic vision. Influenced by ancient poets like Rumi and the rich history of art and cinema, he began creating dance pieces, films, and video installations from a young age. Navaee's work has been featured at international festivals, including IFFR for his short film called SILENCE, the Toronto Winter Olympics, Berlinale, Venice, Oberhausen, IETM, and Body Talks Zurich. He has won numerous awards, such as the Talent Award at the Intervideo Film Festival and the Best Director Award at Eastern Breeze in Canada. His first feature film, SUNSHINE EXPRESS (2025), has been selected at the IFFR 2025.
