The history of Iranian Cinema has always been intertwined with the female body. A body that has been veiled and unveiled for political and aesthetic purposes. This presentation will focus on the history of the representation of Iranian women, and their contribution to Iranian cinema. A history, or a “Herstory”which has been mostly ignored or “veiled” until now.
